Body Positivity Time with Sarah

Today’s Body Positivity Time features my amazing friend Sarah, although she’s not a blogger, Sarah is a wonderful influence on her social media, and even though I’ve only known her a short amount of time, she’s been an amazing friend. I just HAD to get her involved. So without further ado, here are Sarah’s thoughts on body positivity…

” Okay, this is far from a secret, but people need to hear it: People who try to put you down aren’t confident or content with themselves.Your body has carried you through your whole life, no matter what it looks like, you’re still here. Whether you look in the mirror and label yourself as ‘too skinny’ or ‘too fat’ – you’re a hero, you’re a person, and believe me, you go through enough in life without your own voice being a negative one.
We get enough of that from society and everyone else, don’t be that negative voice on yourself. Be better than that, you’re badass. Love and appreciate yourself the way you were made

Nothing except the of expectation other people’s actions is stopping you from achieving your goals, or wearing that dress, or going to that concert. Whether those old jeans fit or not, you’re fabulous. Get new jeans and fly high on your positivity. Stop with the ‘chubby’ and the ‘ugh’; you’re beautiful, embrace life and be the person you want to be!

Go to the concert, have the time of your life, dance til your feet hurt, smile so wide your mouth hurts, sing those songs til you lose your voice, and be confident in the knowledge that you did something for you! You made the choice for you. You only live once, what’ll it be?

If you can draw, you can draw. If you can touch people with your gifts, people should be in awe of you, of who you are. It shouldn’t matter about your size, or what you look like, your gift tells the story. Remember that.

You can’t look in the mirror today and see a beautiful body? That’s okay, you’ll get there, loving yourself is a long process. Start small. Find something positive in the mirror; your fly eyeliner, or the awesome french plait you just did, or the way your newly painted nails look. Find something. Find some positivity to start your day, and I swear it’ll be a better day. Mentally your attitude changes, and it’s so much better.

Someone said to me today that ‘life isn’t all it’s cracked up to be’ and I have never felt this more than I have recently. But life is hard, and full of struggles, and one small piece of positivity can make you feel a whole lot better about yourself.

Loving yourself is seen by society as being vain, but there’s nothing wrong with a bit of self love. I mean, you don’t need anyone else to love you, love yourself, screw society. Looking in the mirror and thinking ‘I look good today, this dress looks good on me’ is not vain. It’s so worth it. There’s so much that you’ve been through, so many struggles, don’t think of your appearance as one to be ashamed of, make it one to be celebrated. Love YOU!

Don’t not wear that skirt because people can see something you hate about yourself, and you think they’re gonna judge you. I swear, don’t think twice about it, and they aren’t gonna judge someone who’s attitude is so positive.

Dress for you, wear that skirt because you think it’s cute, because you love it. Screw everyone else, you’re fabulous!

Beauty comes from the inside, it’s so true. No one else defines you, and no one else can tell you what’s beautiful. Believe in yourself, love yourself, and you’ll shine. So shine bright, beautiful.
You don’t have to have everything figured out right now, you don’t have to have your life together bc no one does. But finding some little way to improve your day or the way you look at yourself, that’s a biggie. If you can look at yourself with a less critical eye then your day can become much brighter.
Try it, right now. Look in the mirror are find two things that you like about what you see today. If your day gets tough, cling on to those two things. Make your space a positive one, live for you.

A friend of mine shared this quote recently and it really got me so here:

“You are allowed to be both a masterpiece, and a work in progress, simultaneously.” – Sophie Bush.”

She is sooo inspirational. I hope you’ve all taken something from this. ❤️

Stay tuned for more in my body positivity time series!

Love Rach xoxo
